Mainstream White America loves Trump, and still hates OJ -
both those two facts speak World Book Encyclopedia volumes about this empire.
The love for Trump is simple:
he is the “great White hope,” “the Chosen One”
who will take back “their” America and make it
1954 White again. They are him, he is them
baby!
Quite apparently, mainstream
White America doesn’t see a wicked, corrupt,
morally and ethically, if not also financially
bankrupt 77-year-old man-cub. No, instead they
see a strong, tough, “real” man willing to
tell the Niggers, Spics, Chinks, fags, Dikes,
etc., etc, etc., to kiss his White ass and go
to hell.
Yes, grow up, these are the
“terms of endearment” MAGA true believers call
Americans of color behind their closed doors,
and would love to say to our faces and suffer
no consequences or repercussions.
They want to return to 1952.
And isn’t that exactly how White America spoke to us all
until about 50 or 60 years ago when they began
to, not develop a conscience, but instead realized how they treated Black folks looked
and sounded barbaric and uncivilized to a world of color? A world in which they depicted
themselves to be the most evolved, elevated,
and esteemed race of humans on the planet.
Any comparison of Trump and OJ illustrates, in the most
graphic and highly defined technicolor
fashion, the intense and unquestionable differences between “of color” and White folks all across these
undeniably divided States of America.
It doesn’t get more polarizing
than these two men, right? Put an “OJ didn’t
do it” sign in your front yard today, and put
a “Trump for President” sign in your yard. An
“OJ is an Innocent” T-shirt, a “Trump 2024”
cap - and see how far you get through the day
without a confrontation.
Polarization is not what these two men reflect and embody.
America is more than polarized; there are many
sub-groups self-divided into opposing groups
and most of these groups have a legitimate and
sizable beef, complaint with… White folks. And
their top witness is any “K through College”
US history textbook.
If there’s anything outside and
beyond the golden gridiron career Simpson
carved out, we can thank OJ for, it is that
his murder trial shined a spotlight on the
racial Grand Canyon that stands between White
Americans and Black Americans. It is so
graphically and dramatically illustrated, in
stark black and white - that we see the world
around us in extremely contrasting ways.
OJ was a living and breathing
riddle wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma,
a puzzling conundrum tucked into US History.
“The Juice” became the ultimate
cultural/racial litmus test of his era. You
could ascertain a lot about an individual
based on their answer to: Did he do it?
Black folks used it to
determine if you were a good white person,
while White folks used it to determine if you
were one of the few good negroes - and I’d
suggest not much has changed since 1994.
White folks loved OJ, he was the conforming and docile flip-side of aggressive Jim Brown and arrogant Ali, he was the moderate Black guy, one of the few “good ones.” So much so that he was allowed, permitted if
you will, to marry the Blonde bombshell,
because he had transcended “Black” and was
just OJ.
Orentrhral James said: “I’m not
Black, I’m OJ…”
Think Tiger Woods before the
golf cart incident and the womanizing
revelations.
These are the only Black men I
can recall who were granted “Honorary” White
guy status. Maybe Jordan?
That’s a significant part of
why White Americans lost their minds back
then, they felt so very betrayed and conned by
both. Recall how with Tiger, after the golf
cart incident the jokes were - “So he
committed adultery, yeah he must be Black.”
Similar to how Bill Clinton was deemed Black because he went on Arsenio Hall’s show in “Ray Bans” and blew the sax like a blue-eyed soul singer,
but most important to determining his genuine
and authentic blackness was the fact he was
unfaithful to his wife - so the pre-MAGA folks
branded him the first Black President.
Keep up, read a little bit,
you’ll figure it out.
OJ did transcend race - he was allowed, permitted to do as
he pleased, but had a conflicted relationship
with mainstream Black America, folks contended
like so many superstars, he’d sold out, talked White, acted White, and left that sister, Margarita for that
White chick… who he later nearly decapitated.
Nevertheless, an all-Black
South Central LA jury was not about to convict
this brother of killing a Negro-loving White
woman, in order to satisfy and please a racist
White America. White people, Please!!!
They acquitted him of murdering a Nordic Princess and
Jewish prince, Ron Goldman, and the LAPD were
exposed for planting evidence - Mark Furhman.
Black America erupted, not in euphoria, but
satisfaction, because for the first time, a Black man bought his
innocence. It was like - every dog has their day and now White folks knew what it felt like to watch
a man get away with murder.
OJ got “White folks justice,”
just look at Trump now, a 100 counts and he
won’t do a minute behind bars!
Black folks had seen this sad scenario play out a
gazillion times. Look no further than the
hundreds of thousands of Black folks spread
all across US History who were killed for looking at a white woman!
Back at the end of the 20th
century, and even still today, White America
almost demanded Black folks see OJ as the
devil. But we don’t.
Why? Because it’s complicated, as complicated as: the enemy of my enemy is my
friend.
Now today, Black America
regards Trump as the face of good old, good
ol’ boy racism and sexism, yet mainstream
White America is dismissive if not oblivious
of his obviously odious and bigoted beliefs.
He will be White America’s voice and soulless
soul, they could give a damn about the highly
offensive innuendos, slights, and insults he’s
leveled at Black people.
Instead, most of White America loves the man. He is their “great white hope” and savior from the dreaded diversity, inclusion, and equality
monsters who are at America’s door, banging on
it, demanding fairness and justice, demanding
Democracy.
We gain and broaden our
perspective of America when we analyze and
examine our reactions to OJ and Trump. Since
so many White folks, the mean and nasty ones
in particular, love Trump, I understand as a
black man he must embody both all they love
and hate.
“Trump is for a lot of white
people what O.J.’s acquittal was to a lot of
Black folks ― you know it’s wrong, but it
feels good,” Obama reportedly said.
OJ and Trump… the enemy of my enemy… is my
friend.
