Harvard President, Claudia Gay, out; Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, maybe next! They wanted Deion Sanders fired before he was hired; they wanted Whoppie
silenced and imprisoned for begging to differ.
They want Obama arrested; they want all the
“uppity” Black folks punked and broken. They
want police brutality as the rule.
Furthermore, they want Jim Crow to return, not
in pockets of America, but from coast to
coast, border to border, nationwide.
In essence, a lynch mob, preoccupied and obsessed with
revenge and retribution, has declared “OPEN
SEASON” on basically all who aren’t 1861 Confederate flag-waving White guys.
There’s a disgusting desire
across these divided states of America, a deep
yearning by the majority of mainstream White
America to put Black folks “back in our
place.” They would rather live in a
dictatorship with King Trump on the throne
than live in a representative Democracy.
They’d like to erase FDR’s New Deal, LBJ’s
Great Society, and MLK’s Dream of a colorblind
nation.
Only you can prevent democracy
from going extinct.
Over the next week or so, go around and chit-chat with
folks about “Democracy,” “what” it is and
“how” it compares to other forms of societal
governance. “Why,” you ask, well because most
folks, particularly Americans of color and
working-class people, are the products of a
mediocre at best public education system
operated by indifferent White people who have
no intention of arming you with a critical mind and intellectual curiosity.
That’s why.
Forgive me here, but I’m gonna’ be both “sharp” and
“blunt;” most Americans don’t “understand”
what democracy is, nor sadly can they define and differentiate a
direct democracy, a representative democracy,
socialism, communism, a monarchy, an
oligarchy, and an autocracy.
Most of us Black Americans
can’t define exactly “what” we are having
taken away from us. Nonetheless, if Donald
Trump wins the 2024 Presidential election, we
are screwed, stuck between the flame-haired
devil and the well-armed MAGA cult army.
We don’t understand what “2nd-world,” damn near medieval
conditions in which the vast, vast, vast
overwhelming numbers of Black folks around the
world dwell, compared to our predicament here.
Of course, the highly acclaimed American way of life isn’t perfect, anywhere near perfect, but it’s a
hell of a lot better than what most people of
color all around the globe endure, subsiding
under the collapse of European colonialism.
American Democracy, as twisted, diluted, and dysfunctional
as it unquestionably is, is worth fighting
for, worth getting off your ass on November
6th and voting for - whoever is running
against Donald Trump.
I understand what this American
Democracy is, aspires to be, and is in
comparison to real life in Central America,
South America, the Caribbean, or Africa for
most Black folks.
Allow me to be brutally blunt,
give it to you straight, no chaser: life in
America is about as good as it gets for Black
people on this planet. We’d better defend it
with all we’ve got because this is the best of
what we’ve got. Black folks need to wake up
and realize we’re oddly lucky or blessed to
end up here in the good ol’ US of A as opposed
to being left muddled in disarray, confusion,
and quasi-chaos-laden Africa, anywhere in
Central America or the Caribbean, but, because
of an ingrained lack of intellectual curiosity
and practicality, we can’t seem to make sense
of that uncomfortable, ugly truth.
It’s the 21st-century baby,
think globally, I am a citizen of the planet,
the universe, not merely and simply a Black
man living in the Rocky Mountains.
MSNBC/CNN/ESPN,etc., etc., are on the screens in my cave
every day, around the clock. It’s all a part
of my life’s soundtrack, my theme music - a
blending of Al Green, The Isley
Brothers, BB King, Billie Holiday, Nat King
Cole, The Motown sound and Stax Records. But make no mistake about it, The talking heads at MSNBC
and CNN sound alarmed, they seem to have this
newfound sense of urgency to point out and
spread the word. “The Rednecks are coming! The
Rednecks are coming!” The Rednecks are here!
And here’s how it’s going to unfold:
First, they came for the
socialists and Blacks, and I did not speak out
- because I was not a Black, nor a socialist.
Then they came for the trade
unionists and Latinos, and I did not speak out
- because I was not a trade unionist, nor was
I Latino.
Then they came for the Jews and
Asians, and I did not speak out - because I
was not a Jew or Asian.
Then they came for me - and
there was no one left to speak for me.

It seems the Conservative
establishment in this country has a
fundamental problem with people of color, all
the people, and the respective countries from
which they’ve immigrated, which predictably,
Uncle Sam has over the past, oppressed,
pimped, bombed, and exploited. After looting
and raping our lands and peoples, they sure as
hell don’t want you in France, Italy, Germany
or America.
“Go Back to where you came from!”
Yes, this is the White/European
creed that is ever increasingly embraced from
Russia to Australia, to Birmingham, and
Denver.
Here in America, Democracy was
fine, as long as only White men voted, but
ever since we’ve all had token, make-believe
say-so in the affairs of this nation, White
men want a White man as King. And to achieve
that, they will declare “OPEN SEASON” on all
Americans of color.
