America
is unquestionably a politically divided nation, but the split doesn’t
stop at
Left and
Right
nor
at Liberal
versus
Conservative.
Instead,
the divide is much deeper and more complex than a 2nd-grade civics
class.
Abe
Lincoln was a …
good
White man. Donald Trump, a bad
White
man, and the late, late abolitionist, John Brown, a one-in-a-million
white man?
The
Republican Party is, fundamentally, the Party of White male
grievances, unfounded phobias, and baseless bias-driven folks who’ve
no real concept or connection to high-minded, highfalutin’
utopian terms like “Sisterhood or Brotherhood.” All for
one, one for all” is as foreign a concept within the ranks of
Trump’s cult as a prehistoric language. The Right is almost all
in for Trump in 2024, despite his striking resemblance to the devil
himself. They will accept an
uncivilized
civilization if they get to rule it. But enough about the ignoble
opposition.
The
Democratic Party consists of virtually everybody else in America. A
majority of Black, Brown, Red, and Yellow Americans are Democrats.
Most folks within the LGBTQ world are Democrats. And within that
gumbo stew, there are two basic factions; the school of thought can
be summed up in Malcolm’s radicalism and Martin’s
pacifism.
Accommodationists
who
just want to go along to get along with everyone else, Kumbaya kids
who merely want to assimilate into American culture and become like
everyone else - “American.” We’ll take reparations
and restitution for our centuries of, blood, sweat, and tears equity,
but it’s not our battle cry. These are your Obama pacifist.
On
the other hand, you’ve got social warriors and revolutionaries
who demand their fair share of the pie; they want payback.
They
want idealistic, utopian, almost cartoonish freedom, justice, and
liberty. They dream of a land where there are no poor people, no bad
people, no mean people. No one gets their feelings hurt and is never
sad or embarrassed. Land of the Coco Puffs, rainbows,
marijuana-infused candy canes, and chocolate marshmallows. They want
to defund the police, and redefine what a man and woman are, empty
the jails, heal the sick, raise the dead.
Big
Apple Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez represents the
super-woke, while New York Mayor Eric Adams represents the “ole
school” rational, logical and pragmatic element which merely
wants their piece of the Big Apple. They want to “redefine”
the police. Their talking points are branded almost Republican. But
what so many contemporary cosmopolitan Negroes don’t understand
is that our roots, as a people, are woven and steeped in common sense
and the good book. We are conservative-minded country folk at our
grandparent’s proud negro core.
Frederick
Douglass was a Republican and Malcolm X would have turned into one
before he demanded Uncle Sam become Black America’s great White
sugar daddy, taking care of our kids.
Hand-up
versus hand-out versus the Trumpian middle finger?
In
a nutshell: the accommodationist
slice
of the Democrat’s pie, their poster boy being Mayor Adams,
understands the complexity of playing 3-tier Star Trek chess, and
they see no sense in agitating and aggravating moderate Whites
(potential votes) with inflammatory words. Additionally, there is
such a thing as a Black man having “tough love” for his
people. Everyone can’t be “big momma” with a hug n’
kiss for all the times the mean old white man kicked you in the butt
today.
Congresswoman
Ocasio-Cortez’s purest revolutionaries refuse to negotiate with
the devil. They have truth and righteousness on their divine side,
and they are hell-bent on being respected
and
having their voices heard. I’m 150% behind the economic agenda
and worker/consumer rights. I want all the blue-collar, pink-collar
and no-collar labor force to be organized into unions to maximize
labor and consumer power.
Yet,
when push comes to shove, and that’s what 2022 and 2024
represent, I’m more concerned with getting stuff done as
opposed to venting my 400-year-old frustrations. I totally understand
and agree with the Progressives, I am an “all power to the
people” Socialist Democrat, but understanding time
n’ place, I
realize this
certainly ain’t the
time nor place to argue over …BS. We have got a common
political foe, a common exploiter and oppressor to confront and
defeat.
Democrats
had better work this all out, and do it lickity-split. Time is of the
essence, the clock is ticking, and if Trump’s cult regains
power, they will not simply turn back the hands of time; they’ll
rip the clock off the wall.
