Un….blanking-believable! So we’re
just deleting history now? Just casually erasing
the blood, sweat, and tears, from over the
last 400 years of Black people, kind of
like a toddler wiping crayon off a wall?
Well, not while Stephen A. Smith’s has a
platform.!
ESPN’s resident thunderstorm has thrown
down the gauntlet, calling out Donald Trump
and his Vice Presidential hand puppet, J.D.
Vance, for their latest pet project: scrubbing
Black heroes from America’s history books. From Jackie Robinson to the Tuskegee
Airmen —all quietly disappearing from official U.S. websites as if
their unmeasurable contributions and
sacrifices never happened. Because why honor
the men who broke racial barriers, fought for
democracy abroad while being denied it at
home, and paved the way for progress—when you
can just pretend they never existed? However, public pressure
forced them to put the website back together.
Yes, the Pentagon actually removed a
webpage dedicated to Jackie Robinson, who was
yes a US Army officer, and the man who broke
Major League Baseballs “colorline of exclusion”. Because, apparently,
acknowledging a Black man’s impact on American
sports and culture is now too “woke.” But
don’t worry, this is all part of Trump’s grand
return to a history where only certain people count. “DEI is dead,” they
chant, as if diversity, equity, and inclusion
were some Marxist conspiracy rather than basic
democracy.
But hang on. It gets far worse. In his latest
executive tantrum, KIng Trump went full
segregation nostalgia, rolling back Executive
Order 11246—the law that banned
federal contractors from discriminating
based on race, gender, or national origin.
Yes, you read that correctly. Trump
essentially reopened the
door for federally funded workplaces to
bring back segregated facilities. Jim Crow is
dusting off his old suit as we speak.
President Donald Trump has invoked a
227-year-old wartime law in order to help
carry out mass detentions and deportations in the United
States, fulfilling a controversial 2024
campaign promise.Trump announced that he will
invoke the Alien
Enemies Act of 1798, a widely condemned immigration law that
gives the president sweeping powers to bypass
equal protection and due process while
targeting foreign citizens.
Now please take note - the MAGA
destruction tour isn’t stopping there. Next up
on the chopping block? The Department of
Education. Then Medicare and Medicaid, then
Social Security. Because ensuring equal
education for all children is just too much
government interference. Heaven forbid kids
learn accurate history or develop critical
thinking skills. Can’t have that!
One can only imagine the nightmarish MAGA
wishlist of destruction….
And yet, still the reigning NFL champion
Philadelphia Eagles are “shufflin’” up to the
back door of the White's only White
House to kiss Trump’s backside. Never has the term “dumb jocks” fit
better than now.
If, like the Philly Pigeons, you haven’t
connected the dots yet, let me spell it out:
This is a full-scale war on progress
itself. Trump and Vance aren’t just trying
to rewrite history. They want to relive it—the version where Black people
“knew their place,” women stayed silent, and
immigrants were only welcome if they came from
the “right” countries.
They despise FDR’s New Deal because it
pulled America out of the Great Depression while giving
Black workers the first real crack at
economic inclusion. They loathe LBJ’s Great Society
because it dragged
America kicking and screaming into the
modern era with Civil Rights, Medicare, and an
expanded welfare state that made their
precious oligarchy sweat. They hate MLK’s
dream because it forced them to confront a
moral reckoning they are both unwilling and
incapable of facing. And Obama? His very
presidency was an existential
crisis for them—a living, breathing
contradiction of their belief that America
belongs to one race, one class, one rigid ideology.
Trump and Vance don’t just want to win
elections. They want to turn back the clock to
a time when Jackie Robinson had to “know his
place,” when the Tuskegee Airmen had to fight
two wars—one against the
Axis abroad and another against American
racism at home. . They want a country where
Black excellence is tolerated only if it remains subservient, where
activism is crushed, and where history is
rewritten to coddle their fragile egos.
Enter Stephen A. Smith.
With fire and defiance, with some of the
same righteous fury that built the 1950s and
60s righteous resistance, he stepped into the
ring and did what too
many Democrats are too afraid to do—fight back. He’s not just challenging their
nonsense; he’s assaulting it, insulting
its premise. He’s daring Trump and Vance
to debate him—to defend their revisionist
propaganda, their racial erasures, their open
disdain for justice. And unlike the spineless,
purse-clutching moderates who act like civility will save them, Smith is bringing
the heat.
And you know these two punks won’t. Both
are little more than frat house bullies. They
pick n’ choose who they attack, and neither
would go word to word with, check it, a real
man.
Smith didn’t just challenge them; he
torched their revisionist gibberish with the
full force of sports history, unflinching
truth, and a clear tone of unapologetic
contemp—qualities the moderates in the
so-called Jackass Party wouldn’t recognize if
they were tattooed on Bill Clinton’s
forehead.
So yes, thank you Stephen A. Smith. And, damn, damn, damn
you dumb jocks representing the City of
Brotherly Love. By sucking up to and lending
much needed credibility to a man backed by the
Klan. Useful idiots. Sellouts. Judge Clarence
Thomas…. in cleats.
Dig this: when history is under siege,
when justice is gasping for air, and when
truth is being gutted in broad daylight, we
need voices that roar like the
Mississippi, that crash like the Atlantic,
that shake the ground like thunder. Not small, simple minded gladiators
who couldn’t find Mississippi on a map. They
know who Cam Newton is, they have no clue who
Huey P. Newton is, and that’s the problem.
And to Trump, Vance, and their army of
revisionist goons? You can try to bury the legacies of FDR, LBJ,
MLK, and Obama.
But history—real history—will never let you.
So before I turn off this little light of
mine, and the world goes dark, I’m gonna let
it shine, on Black Power ( Oh how I love that
term “Black P\ower” I understand the emotions
it shakes and rattles across MAGA-Land)
to challenge MAGA mad-men, standing in the
ring, gloves off, daring Trump and Vance to a
debate.
In the process Stephen A. has made
me, and I’m sure millions upon millions of
other sports fans proud and appreciative of
his defiant backbone, the critical element so
much of the wilting Flower Children and
titanium hipped Hippies apparently don’t know
a damn thing about!
