How do we make BC happen
week after week for 201 issues, so far? How do we keep the current
issue free to everyone and provide Complimentary BC
Paid Subscriptions to readers who can’t afford the subscription
price? We don’t have ad after ad from big corporations, and yet
we sustain a staff (albeit a very small staff) and pay for the
hosting and upkeep of the site. How do we do it?
The answer is simple; for the vast majority
of our funding, we rely on the generosity of the BC
Readership. There is no one behind us, dangling bundles of money
for us to publish what’s on their agenda. Our editorial direction
comes from the BC Editorial Board, who, along
with Guest Commentators and carefully chosen reprints from other
sites, make up the content of The BlackCommentator.com. We intend
to keep it this way.
But it requires your financial support.
Please keep us going.
Please join BC.
We need your support.
There are so many ways to become a member
of BC:
Become a BC Contributor.
There are multiple ways to do this, such as Recurring Contributions
and Occasional Contributions. You can also become a BC
Contributor at the same time you purchase your BC
Paid Subscription.
BC accepts VISA, MasterCard,
AMEX, Discover, check and money order.
All of the comments below were made by readers
responding to our plea for financial support. In particular,
we were struck by the comments of the librarian from PA who decided
to forego video rentals in favor of supporting BlackCommentator.com
as both a BC Paid Subscriber and BC
Contributor. Thank you, and thank you to everyone else who steps
up to keep the BC voice alive.

Keep up the excellent work. Becoming a

You can count on me for further support. - LB, Cheverly, MD
Keep up the excellent Journalism. Many thanks.
- KG, Oakland, CA
I'm doing a dissertation on the presentation
of Black identity during Hurricane Katrina and would like to
use some of your articles from the issues of Sept 1 and Sept
8 as part of my data. - AB, Champaign, IL
I enjoy Black Commentator immensely and
I truly appreciate your service and contribution you make to
our community. Thank you! - AR, East Orange, NJ
I'm currently supporting my grandchild who
is a senior in high school. I want the information you provide,
that is not available elsewhere. - LW, Brooklyn Center, MN
This is a light in this cave called amerikkka.
- TE, Grand Rapids, MI
I try to keep up to date on events happening
in our community so that I am an informed sister. Thank you
and keep up the great work here. - ES, El Paso, TX
I think black commentator is right on the
money - your articles on black gentrification are of particular
interest to me. Please go on website saveleimert.org
to see how we are dealing with gentrification in our neighborhood.
It’s a deep struggle. - JR, Los Angeles, CA
I love Black Commentator and depend on it
for so many things: my spirit, my work, sanity, etc. Thank you
for your work! - LN, Jamaica Plain, MA
I enjoy the articles and commentaries you
publish. It's so important to have this kind of political analysis
available. Thanks. - FH, Gainesville, FL
I am happy and proud to support Black Commentator.
Even though the editors support immigration for Non Blacks (I
am a Pan Africanist first) it is still a valuable resource for
a young Black male student. - CT, Oklahoma City, OK
I have this long held belief, fortified
by indigenous prophecies, that once the traditional Spiritual
Indians get into sacred Circles with Spiritual black people--Turtle
Island negative energy will shift-- because only the Indians
and Blacks know the genuine suffering of Turtle Island. Suffering
is a certain way of seeing---and this, Seeing American Indians
and blacks know!!!! - LC, South Pasadena, CA
The no woman, no cry commentary applies
to my life in some many ways. I am a single parent raising
two boys in the DC Metro area with a career in the Information
Technology industry. I moved to this area 3 yrs ago and the
stress levels for me are extremely high. - VP, Silver Spring,
MD
I've learned that I can't live without you
and what you stand for. Therefore, I am finally subscribing
to BC. I will contact the enlightened brothers
and sisters in my network to get them to subscribe to BC
also. May the blessings of God strengthen you in your efforts.
And, may the angels of protection remain encamped 'round about
you always. - JC, Bloomfield, CT
I think you produce and excellent magazine.
I look forward to your insights, articles, cartoons and artwork
each week. Reading you keeps me sane as I realize I'm not the
only one with strong opinions about this society. - DW, Los
Angeles, CA
While I am a frequent critic of your reporting
and conclusions, I fully support your mission and the right
to express your POV as it provides critical analysis for debate
and constructive criticism, both of which we need more of in
the African-American discourse as we are not a monolith, but
as diverse politically as any other ethnic population. - RR,
Newark, NJ
I am already a subscriber, but am becoming
a contributor because your column is also educating my thirty-one
year old daughter. I tell myself that I can't afford this,
but my better judgment says that I cannot afford the loss of
your information. I just signed up for a trial run of (a movie
rental service), but allowed the trial to extend to a commitment
to $17.99. I'm canceling the service after that payment and
directing my contribution to BLACK COMMENTATOR. Please begin
the deductions on September 30, 2006. Incidentally, I'm a librarian,
and I notice that relatively few people in general and fewer
African Americans are aware of the quality of the information
that affects them. No need to post my name. Thank you for
BLACK COMMENTATOR. – a reader in PA
To me, though I am white, Malcolm X was
a true American, the only hope for America really, and he taught
me much, so much; I believe you, the women and men at Black
Commentator, continue his work, and I'm sure his spirit lives
among you as it does with so many of us; see you at the barricades.
- LJ, France
We need to keep BC alive!
- AH, Atlanta, GA
I am making another contribution and will
continue to do so as often as my meager income will allow.
I want you to survive. I need to tell my co-workers about you.
Maybe they will find that they will want you to survive as badly
as I do! - TJ, Washington, DC
Welcome back from a well deserved respite.
I am still contracting in Iraq for DOD, and am still amazed
at the level of ignorance that exists in the Main Stream Media/Opinion
Mill, I would be embarrassed to tell anyone that I was a Journalist.
I continue to find your level of Commentary exquisite and impatiently
wait for new issues......I have introduced your website to a
number of brothers here and all enjoy, however, I am alarmed
at the apathy of so many intelligent folks....At any rate, I
am witness to the massive waste and loss of international respect
that Emperor Bush and his royal court have fostered abroad.
It continues to spiral downward, no end in sight. Again, thank
you for what we all crave, TRUTH! VISION! Now, ACTION! – DR,
Iraq
