Dear Concern
Citizens: The Black Farmers and Agriculturalists Association, Incorporated (BFAA, Inc) will hold a press conference to ask President Obama to demand the resignation of the Secretary of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack, for what can only be described as, facial evidence of continued, uninterrupted acts of racial hatred and a complete disregard for the civil rights of another descendant of Black farmers----Ms. Shirley Sherrod. USDA and its employees have enjoyed, without the slightest hint of cessation, the high privilege of depriving African Americans of their constitutional rights with total and complete exemption from the congress, the courts, and most definitely the White House. These rights were guaranteed to all citizens, to include both Black employees and Black farmers at USDA, "for the full and equal benefit of all laws and proceedings for the security of persons and property as is enjoyed by white citizens." In 1999, USDA admitted to and was subsequently found guilty by a federal judge of discriminating against over 13,000 African Americans in the historic class action lawsuit called Pigford v. Vilsack which is, by the way, still in court. What did USDA do to those employees who discriminated against those 13,000 Black farmers? You guessed it--absolutely nothing---zero tolerance for discrimination, notwithstanding. There are approximately another 80,000 victims (Late Filers) who were, interestingly enough, denied the right to even have their claims of discrimination heard on the merits, by Mr. Tom Vilsack and his lawyers over at DOJ. These individuals were not given NOTICE, as is required by the constitution, nor in accordance to the provisions of paragraph #4 of the contract (Pigford Consent Decree) between Black farmers and USDA. Therefore, we can conclude, mathematically, with a high degree of accuracy, that zero tolerance for discrimiation, as it were, does not include Mr. Vilsack and his other---less and except Shirley Sherrod---employees. Civil rights algebra: Tom Vilsack style. And therein, lies the difference. Regards, Thomas Burrell President--BFAA, Inc www.mybfaa.com Press Conference to Call for the Resignation of Tom Vilsack and an appeal to Congress BFAA, Inc will also launch a campaign to have congress to schedule hearings to, once again, look into this culture of corruption that is "hold up" over on 1400 Independence Avenue in Washington, D. C. We hope that it (congress) will draft and pass even more legislation to help African Americans to enforce their rights to equal treatment under the law from USDA, as otherwise codified under the constitution and other Federal rules and regulations. Maybe then, we too will be able to "enjoy the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and for our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States od American," of this more Prefect Union---Mr. Thomas Jefferson et al. God is tapping the shoulders, through the Sherrod incident, of the African American community and giving us an opportunity to, once again, probe and/or cause the probing into the "good ole boy" network at USDA. This network has been used for decades and decades to deny us our rightful place at the table of economic prosperity in this great country for which the sweat and tears of our forefathers affords us. Till victory is won! See you at the conference. |
