"Polarity" was created just before the 2003 Iraq war. I was creating special art work to include in my show in Ferrara, Italy and I was very upset by the plans for yet another war. While this painting is small in size, it is full of a lot of emotion. The figures in this painting represent the transition from "upright" or sustaining life, to upset, to despair, and finally a premature death caused by war and violence. The colors are brightly turbulent.
