Attention Seekers of Peace

A very special opportunity will be available in this summer for interested people to attend an International Intensive workshop on Diversity and Nonviolent Communication: Focus on Race, Ethnicity, and Social Class, to be held this summer on the Binghamton University campus, July 21 – 28, 2007. This week-long workshop is in addition to the annual New York Intensive in Nonviolent Communication, a highly experiential event based on the principles set out in Nonviolent Communication by Marshall Rosenberg, known internationally for his work in bringing strategies for peace to couples, clans and countries in conflict, will have an additional week focusing especially on race, ethnicity, and social class.

I am requesting your assistance in letting interested people incolleges, churches and community groups know about this opportunity.Complete information is available at newyorkintensive.org.

People will be attending from India, Africa, Sri and LatinAmerica, among other locales. It may also be possible to earn academic credit for attending.

Registration deadlines have been extended for readers of BC, but do not delay, please act immediately.

At this retreat, we hope to support exploration of the following:

  • how Nonviolent Communication can support greater connection among persons from diverse groups
  • how Nonviolent Communication can support healing of wounds from painful experiences associated with race, ethnicity and social class
