Ah yes, the grand tradition of Super Bowl champions
trotting up to the White House, flashing
smiles, and pretending it’s all about
sportsmanship, not politics. But let’s be real
- this is Donald Trump’s White House we’re talking about. The same man who
has spent two entire presidencies turning racial resentment into a political brand.
And now, a team dominated by Black athletes is
supposed to make nice for a photo-op? Hard
pass.
Visiting Trump’s White House
wouldn’t be an honor - it would be complicity.
If Trump wants an Eagles jersey, he can buy one off eBay
like every other grifter. Because no
self-respecting Black player should be caught
dead validating a man whose entire political
existence is a giant middle finger to racial
progress. And before anyone starts hollering
about “keeping politics out of sports,” let’s
take a hard look at the receipts.
Trump’s Latest Greatest Hits -
A Second-Term Disaster for Black America
1. The War on DEI - Because
Diversity Scares Him
Trump has been on a rampage against Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
programs, banning them from government
agencies, slashing corporate funding for them,
and generally acting like acknowledging racism
is worse than actual racism. Why? Because
nothing terrifies him more than Black
professionals thriving in spaces that used to
be exclusively for mediocre white
men.
2. Pardoning the January 6
Insurrectionists - Because White Terrorism
Gets a Free Pass
He pardoned the very people who stormed the Capitol, many of
whom were literal neo-Nazis waving Confederate flags. These are the same types
who were screaming at NFL players for
kneeling. But sure, let’s shake hands with the
guy who thinks white rioters deserve
forgiveness while Black athletes deserve to be
blackballed.
3. Stripping Birthright
Citizenship - Because He Wants America as
White as His Cabinets
Trump is on a mission to undo birthright citizenship, which, let’s be
clear, is an attack on Black and Brown
families. This is the same Constitution that protected the
descendants of enslaved people, but nah, he’s
here to decide which babies get to be “real
Americans.”
4. Defunding Public Schools -
Because Educated Black Kids Are a Threat
Trump’s administration is slashing public school funding, especially in urban areas.
Why? Because an educated Black population
isn’t as easy to manipulate with cheap slogans
and fearmongering. Keeping people uneducated
is part of the plan.
5. Rolling Back Police Reform -
Because Brutality Is a Feature, Not a Bug
Under Trump, any progress on police accountability is getting tossed
into the nearest dumpster fire. Because in his
world, police are only “great heroes” when
they’re brutalizing Black people. If they’re
policing an insurrection? Well, then, they’re
“too woke.”
First-Term Hits - Because the
Racism Didn’t Start Yesterday
6. The Birther Movement - Trump’s
Original Racist Masterpiece
Let’s never forget Trump’s OG racist move: trying to delegitimize Barack Obama’s
presidency by claiming he wasn’t American. It
was nothing but a dog whistle to white
nationalists who couldn’t stomach a Black man
in the White House.
7. “Very Fine
People” in Charlottesville - Because Nazis
Need Love Too
When white supremacists literally marched with torches in Charlottesville, chanting “Jews will not replace
us,” Trump’s response? There were very fine people on
both sides. If there’s one moment that should have disqualified
him from leading anything beyond a Walmart
customer service line, it was that.
8. Central Park Five - Trump’s
Decades-Long Grudge Against Innocent Black
Kids
In 1989, five Black and Latino teens were falsely accused
of assaulting a white jogger in Central Park.
Trump took out a full-page ad demanding the death penalty. When DNA evidence proved their innocence, did he apologize? Nope. He doubled down because
admitting he was wrong would mean admitting
Black people deserve fairness.
9. His Long History of Housing
Discrimination - Because Black Renters Were
Never Welcome
Before Trump was ruining democracy, he was keeping Black people out of his
buildings. The Justice Department sued him for refusing to rent
to Black tenants, and he fought to keep discrimination
alive like it was a family tradition.
10. Calling African Nations
“Sh*thole Countries”
At a White House meeting, Trump famously referred to Haiti and African nations as
“sh*thole countries.” Imagine saying that while expecting Black athletes
to come shake your hand like nothing happened.
And Yet, Lane Johnson Wants to
Be Spokesman?
Now, we come to Lane Johnson, the white offensive lineman who sports media types want to elevate to be the
Eagles’ “team voice” on the matter. Ah yes,
because when it comes to deciding whether
Black players should validate a man actively attacking their civil rights, naturally, we should defer to a white dude. This is
exactly the problem.
Black players don’t need a white chaperone telling them how to navigate a racist presidency. If
Lane Johnson wants to go, he can take a solo
trip and enjoy his lukewarm McDonald’s
cheeseburgers with Trump.
Final Verdict: The Eagles
Should Ghost Trump Like He’s an Unpaid
Contractor
The only reason for the Eagles to visit the White House would
be to tell Trump to his face why they’re not honored to be there. Otherwise? They
should skip it. No amount of Super Bowl rings
should make a Black-dominated team bow at the
feet of a man who has spent years making life harder for Black Americans.
Trump has never respected Black athletes - unless they
shut up and entertain him. The Eagles should
send a loud, clear message: This isn’t a minstrel show. Keep the invite.
