Attorney General William Barr is under fire from his Co-President Donald J. Trump for his refusal to issue unfounded indictments against Trump’s 2016 presidential opponent, Hillary Clinton, former Vice President Joe Biden, and former President Barack Obama. Barr, who has operated as Trump’s consigliere and enforcer, has rarely refused to carry out his directives.

Barr hesitated in this instance because Trump was asking him to do something that is clearly illegal and that would have placed him at personal risk for jail time as he would have violated several federal laws based on a sitting President’s desire to punish his political enemies with no legal basis. Trump had already announced at a rally that these indictments would be imminent.

He had also declared that his Secretary Of State, Mike Pompeo, would release thousands of Hillary Clinton’s emails from her tenure as Obama’s Secretary of State when she, allegedly, illegally circulated classified government documents. Rather than comply with this request, Pompeo has given a vague response indicating that he is working on getting them out.

Trump is continuing to drop in the polls in his presidential race against Joe Biden, recovering from the contraction of the coronavirus, and flailing about in political desperation. To speed up his recovery, his physicians administered heavy doses of steroid-based drug cocktails which Speaker Nancy Pelosi has concluded put him in a “… altered state.”

His behavior has exhibited bizarre twists and turns during the past two weeks: cancelling and re-starting negotiations for a COVID-19 relief bill, backing a modestly funded bill and then asking Republicans and Democrats to go big over the objection of Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell; and cancelling the second, virtual presidential debate and then asking that it be rescheduled.

In the meantime, Barr, who is committed to establishing an imperial presidency, has not abandoned Trump. Neither has Mike Pompeo who has plans to run for the presidency after Trump leaves office. Both plan to coddle Trump to keep him from blowing himself up and endangering them politically and criminally.

Barr is quietly planning a series of devious political moves. He is directing his U.S. Attorneys to pressure Governors and Secretaries of State in the battleground states to undermine the voting process by limiting voting venues, challenging voting eligibility, and closely scrutinizing mailed-in ballots of voters of color and escalating their disqualifications. Voters of color are already having their mailed ballots excluded at a 2:1 ratio.

Barr also plans to enhance Trump’s call for 50,000 of his supporters to become poll watchers on November 3rd. This call went out to his base which includes, among others, Proud Boys, Boogaloo Boys, and the Wolverine Watchmen who hatched plots to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam in response to their COVID-19 lockdown policies.

David Duke, who Trump won over during the 2016 election and the 2017 Charlottesville Unite the Right white supremacist and neo-Nazi rally, is already assembling the remnants of the Ku Klux Klan to stir up chaos on Election Day. Trump is depending on these jackals to help push him to victory.

The aforementioned right-wing militia groups, known for provoking and engaging in targeted aggression against minority and Jewish citizens, are expected to stimulate violence at numerous poll sites in urban, high density minority voting locations in battleground states and to provide Barr with an excuse to send in unidentified federal storm troopers to quell the disturbances.

These individuals will also intimidate local citizens in the name of bringing law and order to the areas, the same strategy they used in Portland and Seattle during the protests over police killings of unarmed Black men and women during the past six months. Barr’s plan is to cause such epic disruptions that the voter turnout will be suppressed in areas of the Democratic base.

In that way consequently, the turnout will be limited at the same time that mailed-in ballots are being discounted. Barr and Trump hope this double whammy will be enough to throw the election into the courts where Trump has already appointed approximately 200 (25 percent) of the 792 active federal judges and the soon to be confirmed third of the nine United States Supreme Court justices.

With this army of carefully screened and selected judicial acolytes, Barr and Trump are convinced that they can prevail in the courts since they will soon have a 6-3 U.S. Supreme Court majority after the confirmation of Judge Amy Coney Barrett who currently serves on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. They believe that if they get the race to the federal courts, they will win.

Judge Barrett and her like-minded members of Trump’s judicial cult are poised to overturn Obama’s health care act, Roe v. Wade, and other federal court decisions that have led the nation toward greater racial and social equality. Trump’s legal posse, if unchecked, will set the country back for generations.

Therefore, it is imperative that the Biden-Harris Campaign and the Democratic National Committee marshal the necessary human and financial resources to push back against the Barr-Trump chicanery at every turn. The Democrats are in for a political fight unlike any they have ever experienced because Barr and Trump are going for the Democrats’ political jugular vein.

Democrats must ignore all the polls and line up their defenses in all the battleground states to ensure that they are fully prepared for the coming onslaught.
