Inescapable is the obvious influence of European imperialism on the US Southwest: the people, their “stolen” land and the bloody, bloody . . . bloody history of America, and when breaking it down for 3 pre-teen young ladies the impact of “Manifest Destiny’ was plain to see. The charges of “genocide,” the broken treaties and resulting resource grab was undebatable: It’s difficult to candy-coat US history, unless you’re deaf, dumb, blind . . . or a follower of Emperor Trump. .

American is arguably the most advanced civilization on the planet, if not in the known history of humankind.

However, the issue is “how” the empire was constructed. I’d submit the devil is in the details. An asterisk must be engraved upon any clinical or even sportsbar conversation when discussing and defining “America,” simply because of the the barbaric means employed to construct this “utopia” for white men. Unarguably the mindset which propelled it’s rise to global power was ”by any means necessary.” This cutthroat mentality resulted in Indians being obliterated, and later Mexicans/Aztecs victims to the same, first the Spaniards and the catholic church, then the strong armed land grabs of the mid 19th century classified as wars,

Now all the while history unfolds Africans were dragged to the White man’s “new world” in chains and forced to construct this empire from the agriculture foundation up. 400 years of either slave labor or damn-near free labor provided at slave wages. Asians were pimped and exploited to build the intercontinental railway and all women, even snow white and Cinderella were kept barefoot and pregnant, i.e., dumb n’ dependent. This is the “good ol’ days” that Trump and his supporters long for.

So as we were breaking-down the “Indian wars,” reservations, the Civil war battle which occured in “New” Mexico and the tragic “Ludlow incident” and the demise of route 66, Sirius XM is providing background music for our vacation soundtrack, from Motown to Stax to the blues . . and MSNBC News.

Not so surprisingly the coverage was of the still bloody Sacramento execution and yesteryear’s Baton Rouge execution . . . Sorry, but I can’t imagine any other descriptive term which is more applicable than ”execution.”

So of course I find myself realizing the mass genocide of young Indian Apache braves and Comanche warriors wasn’t too different than the slow genocide we see being waged against Black people on urban reservations consistently and constantly today.

The murders of men of color is based-on the abundance of an white cultural arrogance and coinciding racial indifference which devaluales everybody who ain’t white. The mentality which fuels these heinous acts flies in the face of the high n’ mighty notion-of “America, this land is your land, this land is my land.“ And as noteworthy; these incidents of police brutality are woven into the very fabric of America and merely a carryover from slavery, Black Codes, Jim Crow and the decades of good ol boy/redneck lynch mob justice.

Look, the contempt, the disdain if not “blind” hatred we all see, feel, smell and taste . . it’s presence ain’t all that complicated or complex - a sizeable significant portion of White America struggle with the preschool notion that folks of color are “equal” in their humanity to whites. Millions upon millions . . . upon millions of Trump’s backers wrestle with the belief we’re really 100% human, but rather more-akin-to monkeys and great apes who can type on a cell phone keyboard. Seriously. I’m not trying to be facetious but rather honest, sharp and blunt.

America, this land was designed, crafted and tailored to fit specifically and particularly White men, and their well-behaved, obedient gals . . . that land and the empire (built with the blood, sweat n’ tears of colored folks) constructed upon it - was never, ever, ever never . . . ever intended to be equally shared with black, brown red or yellow folks - we, the little people, whose foreparents did all the heavy lifting, toiled from “can’t see to can’t see,” worked their fingers right down to their elbows. This nation is, in the heartless hearts n’ small, simple minds of Trump’s America really, truthfully “White People’s Land.”

I explained to the girls how signs once hung which read ”No Mexicans/Indians/Jews Niggers . . . or dogs.” And how there are still those tens of millions who’s love to rehang them.

Trump’s entire game was, is and remains “I’m here to take back our country, and make it white again!” The vast, overwhelming majority of, (yes hyphenated like all other immigrants,) European-Americans (white folks) are in favor of it. They’ve made a dastardly deal with a despicable, detestable - if not diabolical devil, and because the stakes are so-very high, i. e, keeping the niggers/spics/chinks/ sand-niggers/ rag-headed niggers, red niggers on the reservation, mentally and physically isolated in their assigned 1957 places . . . they’re willing to “stand-by” their “great white hope/dope,” come hell or high water.

You best pray those Trump hotel issued swimsuits are flame resistant.

We did bring our swimsuits, the girls enjoyed the indoor pool, the wifey-boo n’ I lounged in the jacuzzi, but dig this - it was snowing at the Grand Canyon too. Good lord, Mother Nature gets around.
