I ask my people, Afro-Americans, and my Native and Mexican brothers and sisters who’ve too been in this 400 year-long struggle against genocidal colonialism . . . if not now, when? If not here in time, where? If not this man - what man? David Duke? If this isn’t the “right time” to “fight the power,” unite, organize, stand-up together and fight back, for our children and our children’s children's children well when will it be? If this ain't the “shit hittin’ the fan,” then what would be? Must we wait until you’re on the road Route 66, with the spouse and kids, Jack Frost and Mother Nature have gotten together to close the Interstate Highway . . . only to find out the “independently owned” Marriott/Hilton Holiday Inn does not allow Blacks, Mexicans, American Indians, certain darker Asians . . . Muslims nor Jews to stay at their finer establishments . . . What will we do then? Go berserk on Facebook?

We must seize the time . . . before it’s too late.

To somewhat paraphrase the British icon Winston Churchill . . . “We shall defend our segregated urban and rural islands, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches and pools Trump’s minions want to re-segregate, we shall fight on the landing grounds; the airports. hotels, schools, malls and hospitals they want to re-segregate. We shall fight in the fields and in the streets. we shall fight in the hills - where they want to impose”stop and strip search” . . . just because. We shall never surrender and allow our children to have to exist as 3/5ths humans . . . again.

Again . . . .

The only real tool or instrument we’ve “handy” to do this, just laying-around is the Democratic Party. However, to do this, to wage a fight, the Democratic Party desperately needs to “grow-a-set.” Senator Elizabeth Warren, like my momma and grandma has a set. She’s not going to get “conned by a conman.” Not gonna get pushed- around, manipulated, pimped and’ played by a big city hustler from the Big Apple. Nor is Bernie Sanders, Congressman Keith Ellison, Congress lady Maxine Waters or newcomer Senator Kamala Harris.

We can’t simply be a Santa Monica beach-party which looks, sounds, thinks and acts like Nancy, Hillary, Muffy, Buffy and Timmy - soft, meek, mild-mannered and docile. We need more than merely modern day missionaries who, as a side-project, a hobby or a weekend diversion want to lead Americans of color against Trump’s “Whitelash,” We, the little people need fighters, back-alley brawlers and revolutionaries, political activist/warriors cut in the same identical cloth as Harriet Tubman, Susan B Anthony, Angela Davis and Mary Elizabeth Lease - who said: “You may call me an anarchist, a socialist, or a communist, I care not, but I hold to the theory that if one man has not enough to eat three times a day and another man has $25,000,000, that last man has something that belongs to the first. ” Look here - there’s no avoiding conflict and contention. Trump’s “brownshirts” are positioning the political/legal mechanism so that they can “take-back” their country . . and we don’t need political representation which has the backbone of Gumby.

I want a Democratic Party which reflects, and thus embodies the 50% of progressive-minded Americans who the other regressive-minded 50% hate. It’s that simple. This mission, if we choose to accept it requires folks not afraid nor morally opposed to fighting.

Here’s the truth, the uncut butt-naked truth. Lord Trump constitutes an existential threat to the future of America, if not the world. The man abides-by no rules, norms or laws of a civilized society. Obviously his personal interest far, far outweigh the best interest of the US. The widespread fear: he’ll either exploit a serious terrorist attack, or hand-makes one in order to lock-down American society - to silence his critics and opponents. Saturday Night Live, Hollywood’s award show’s, CNN and MSNBC, The Nation, NPR, Black Commentator . . . go down the list - any and all who beg to differ with the simple-minded emperor will be under attack. Trump’s “brain,” Stephen Bannon, is on paper stating “Lenin wanted to destroy the state, and that’s my goal, too. I want to bring everything crashing down, and destroy all of today’s establishment.” Ponder that point in a nation where White megalomaniacs like Bannon, Trump, Jeff Sessions and all the other knights of the divisive empire have now today secured audacious power. We can’t dismiss where this could all go once these racist, sexist, xenophobic tyrants are awarded the power of the Oval Office. We can’t rule out anything. Trump will be like Nixon . . . on cocain.

Ridin’ the white Horse?

Deplorable propaganda machines like Breitbart.com, FOX News, Townhall and the Drudge Report will be declared the only credible, non-bias “White-man approved” sources of news and information - what can only be defined as “Right-Wing” disinformation and counter-information will be dubbed “fair n’ balanced.”

Newt Gingrich, alleged mastermind behind the last Redneck uprising 20 plus years ago has announced that those on the political left, the little people, the unwashed masses are “facing the end of their way of life.” Or maybe even our actual lives . . . .

How to fight back?

The best defense is an offense. We need to mount our horses and take it to the neo-confederates on the cultural battlefield that is these Disunited States of America. We can’t wait, we must besiege and bombard them on the fields of engagement - in the courtrooms, boardrooms and in the streets. Mass protest and boycotts should become our preferred methods and means to fight back, not defend our way of life. The “rainbow coalition” that is the “Left” must adopt the mindset of our parents and grandparents back in the 1950s and 60’s, we must champion and live out-loud their convictions. Starting January 20th , there won’t be any handshaking and backslapping, instead for the party of angry, mean hateful White Americans it’ll be hand- throwin’ and back-stabbin’.

We must believe in our convictions, to the perilous point we’re willing to be convicted of them, willing to do more than just discuss the issues over a beer or cocktails among friends.

In the end - Democrats in Congress must recognize that the next four years will be political combat for them, not a chance to be cordially compromising, hold hands and sing “It’s a small world after all” or “We are the world.” There will be no political healing over the next few years because Trump’s party yearns to “Make America White again.” Accept that. Get use to it. Let’s get this twisted right - the people who comprise Trump’s political minions have no desire to “work together” to make America a better place for all. No, instead they want to return this nation to the days of “Apartheid . . . American Style.”

My humble thought; if we can’t transform the Democratic Party then we ought abandon or burn the plantation down and start our own party, The People’s Party.
