“To him [or her] your celebration is a sham; your boasted liberty an unholy license; your national greatness, swelling vanity; your sounds of rejoicing are empty and heartless; your shouts of liberty and equality, hollow mock; your prayers and hymns, your sermons and thanksgivings, with all your religious parade and solemnity, are to him [or her] mere bombast, fraud, deception, impiety, and hypocrisy -  a thin veil to cover up crimes that would disgrace a nation of savages. There is not a nation of the earth guilty of practices more shocking and bloody than are the people of these United States at this very hour.”
-Frederick Douglass
“Mubarak must go and so must this system!”
-Egyptian Protestor, January 29, 2011, Cairo, Egypt

Just plain ordinary, everyday Black, White, Brown, Red, and Yellow people in the United States must make the connection between our own increasing economic and political repression here at home and that of people around the world, who are and have been for so long, suffering under the avaricious bloody boot of the U.S. corporate / military government’s many client-dictators in countries around the world.

Slavery inside the United States is not dead. It has merely been tweaked, refined, and redefined under the ongoing sham of so-called “democracy” inside this nation; and is, in fact, but a small reflection of what everyday people globally endure under “America’s” “thin veil” of corporate / military hegemony, subterfuge, and hypocrisy. Everyday people of all colors in this United States are de facto slaves. The very least we can be - is determined and rebellious slaves until we break the yoke of this corporate / military government from around our throats! At least we can cease acquiescing in our own oppression and that of people around the world!

Now multi-national corporations in this nation have been shamelessly granted legal “personhood” status as if they can feel the horrible pain and suffering they perpetrate and perpetuate nationally and internationally upon the majority of everyday Black, White, Brown, Red, and Yellow people. This nation is rife with opportunistic political misleaders, from the White House, to the Congress, to the judiciary, who speak the lofty, “hollow,” and meaningless rhetoric of double-speak - as they grievously pimp the very pain of the people.

While corporate-stream “news” media political pundits perform public acts of intellectual masturbation, complete with nonsensical drivel about their supposed - and always illusive - “high ideals,” our people [everyday people] are losing their jobs, their homes, their tenuous constitutional freedoms; dying as cannon fodder in corporate / military elite-driven U.S. wars abroad, denied universal single-payer health care and a decent education, and being set-up by this one-party corporatist “American” government to be the perpetual targets in and of perpetual wars at home and abroad!

This nation has imprisoned, and continues to imprison, more people in its gulag prison system than any other nation on earth. The vast majority of these people are “people of color” and/or economically poor and disenfranchised people of all colors. This is not by coincidence. It is part and parcel of a hypocritical and politically bankrupt system whose fundamental values are driven by profit, greed and status.

The hypocrisy of the United States government is detonating at home and abroad. People are legitimately yearning for justice and political & economic self determination due human beings. Superficial change in the color or gender of those who administer and/or represent the interests of the empire’s corporate / military elite is simply another veneered layer of hypocrisy intended to perpetuate a system that does not serve the social, economic, and political needs of everyday Black, White, Brown, Red, and Yellow people.

As we observe the valiant struggles of everyday people in Egypt, Haiti, Tunisia, and elsewhere on this globe, it is imperative to understand that the oppression of those people by the covert actions of the U.S. government is being carried out hypocritically and fallaciously in the name of the people of this nation. We must begin to understand that the time has come to set our own house in order. We must begin to understand that we too in this nation are, in our own way, the everyday people of Haiti, of Egypt, of Tunisia, of Greece, of Ireland, of Portugal, of France, of Germany, of India, of Mexico, of Argentina, of Sudan - indeed of all of Mother Earth. To be sure, we are of different colors - males and females - but we yearn for justice, true freedom, and real (not fake) human rights. The subterfuge, hypocritical and repressive actions of and by the U.S. government, both at home and abroad, must never be allowed to be portrayed as if they represent the everyday people of the United States of America! It’s time to get our own house in order! Time to start breaking the chains that bind us all!

Let our rallying cry here at home be that, not of corporate globalization, but of everyday people’s internationalism. There’s work to be done. We can do this because we must do this!

Onward, my sisters and brothers. Onward!
