Distract, Lie, and Then Distract Some More - Keeping it Real - By Larry Pinkney - BlackCommentator.com Editorial Board

What better way to control a people than to distract them, lie to them, and then distract them some more?

This is precisely the insidious and deadly game that the U.S. government, the avaricious corporations, and the self described, so-called news media are playing upon the peoples of this nation and world. Democratic and Republican Party politicians are essentially nothing more than professional liars, who are the very real surrogates of and to the U.S. corporate elite - not to everyday people.

How many people in this nation are aware of the enormous and untold national and planetary destruction in the Gulf of Mexico, thanks to the de facto corporate-controlled, drill-and-kill policies of the Obama / Biden / Rahm Emanuel administration? How many people are cognizant of the steady climb in the maiming and death toll of civilians and U.S. military personnel, as a result of the ongoing U.S. wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Pakistan? Why isnt the corporate media highlighting this? And what of the plight of the growing army of unemployed, under-employed and homeless in this nation? What of the continuing emaciation and privatization of the U.S. public education system, not to mention the continuing cruel and unusual imprisonment of myriad political prisoners in this corporate plutocracy known as the United States of America?

There will be no change in this nation until everyday Black, White, Brown, Red, and Yellow people become fed-up, and uncompromisingly organize to throw out the Democratic Party foxes, the Republican Party wolves, and their systemic propaganda arm - the ever groveling and deceitful U.S. corporate media.

I recently had a lengthy and illuminating conversation with an ardent member of the so-called Tea Party Movement who, when I questioned him, informed me that he had read and was continuing to study the writings of Saul Alinksy, who is known for his works regarding community organizing and political power paradigms. The liberals and self-described progressives of the Democratic Party foxes, arrogantly and blindly see themselves as now being in power, under the present pro-apartheid Zionist Obama / Biden / Rahm Emanuel administration. Their arrogance (class privilege and often subtle-but-active racism) has blinded them to the fact that genuine political power emanates from the everyday people, not from the government and/or corporations. The same can be said of the Republican Party wolves, who like their Democratic Party fox counterparts, seek to cynically pimp and manipulate the pain of everyday people. They seek to distract, lie, and distract some more.

Ultimately, and in relatively short order, the horrible economic and social pain and legitimate rage of everyday people of all colors, will boil over and neither the government, its corporate allies, nor the corporate media will be able to cap or hide it any longer. The question is, however, what political form and direction will that legitimate rage take? Will it be towards increased racism, further economic disenfranchisement, and corporate plutocracy, or will it be about and towards a form of systemic change that is championing a real peoples democracy?

The policies and hypocrisy of the Obama / Biden / Rahm Emanuel administration, in concert with the Democratic Party foxes, the Republican Party wolves, and the corporate media, are moving this nation towards further disenfranchisement, increased racism, and ever-increasing corporate domination. Indeed, the corporate media, is about the business of distraction, omission, and lies. It seeks to have everyday people pay attention to the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Tiger Woods, or any other nebulous distraction that can be manufactured to keep the peoples attention away from what the government, the Republicrats [i.e. the Republican and Democratic Parties], and the corporate media are doing to control and emaciate the people! Its all about distraction, omission, lying, and - more distraction on the part of these scoundrels.

If we are to stop and reverse this march towards even more economic and political disenfranchisement and corporate control, we must stop being distracted. The tools and tactics of distraction and lies will not cease, but we should not be allowing ourselves or others to succumb to them. Our task, as difficult as it may be, is to unceasingly direct everyday peoples attention to how they / we are being duped and controlled; and what we can and must do about it. We must remind everyday people that the continued Patriot Act, Rendition (U.S. government kidnapping), and ongoing U.S. wars abroad are a serious abrogation of the civil, political, and human rights of the peoples of this nation and the world!

The policies of this U.S. government are literally killing people in this nation and throughout the world. These policies are destroying our environment and Mother Earth. These bloody, needless and self-defeating wars are being waged by this corporate-controlled U.S. government, supposedly to obtain a real peoples democracy; that WE in this nation do not really have.

Wake up!!! Organize, Organize, and Organize some more!!!

Onward my sisters and brothers! Onward!
