Dear Reader
A message about the new BC Subscription Plans

Dear BC Reader,

Beginning this week and continuing for the next few weeks, you’ll be seeing some changes in BC. The content will remain, as always:

an independent weekly internet magazine dedicated to the movement for economic justice, social justice and peace, providing commentary, analysis and investigations on issues affecting African Americans and the African world.

This week, we introduce our new BC Subscription plans, with several different subscription lengths and payment options from which to choose. We must return to subscription-based publishing in order to keep BC alive, although we also intend to continue Complimentary BC Subscriptions for low income readers, so that access to BlackCommentator.com remains available to everyone. BC Subscription prices range from a low $39.95 one-time payment (or $3.95 over twelve payments) for a full year (at least 40 issues) to $4.95 for a one-month subscription. The Sign-Up Page gives all the details and BC Subscription plans.

For those of you who have continued your financial support through contributions to BC, we would be happy to create a BC Subscription for you at no additional charge. Please click here to let us know if you would like to convert your contributions to a BC Subscription.

Beginning this week, you may notice that you need to sign-in to view certain pages of BlackCommentator.com. By next week, to read most of BC you will need to sign-in.

Very soon, you will also see new website menus to make navigating easier. We have listened to BC reader suggestions and are nearly finished re-designing the site navigation. Do you have suggestions? Please click here to make sure they reach Nancy Littlefield.

We understand that paying for a subscription in tough times is not easy for everyone. Neither is publishing an online magazine, without income. And yet, especially with so many important issues facing us all today, the work of BC is more relevant and necessary than ever. We want to be there when you go to BlackCommentator.com, and by asking everyone to pitch in, we will be.

Thank you for your past and future support, both financial and through your reader comments to us and to your friends and colleagues.
